Why we need to learn Biblical Hebrew?

Posted by Eli Dahan on July 28, 2009 under Biblical Hebrew | Read the First Comment

We all know how meditation is good for the spirit, but in order to read the holy language you don’t need the meditation of the translation- you just need to learn the Biblical Hebrew , and then you can do meditation with The Scriptures!

maditation with The Scriptures

Remember that if you want to understand the true meaning of The Lord words, even the best translation, and there are a lot of very good translations, couldn’t reach to the massage in 100%.

Every language is by no means a culture. Biblical Hebrew is not just a culture-it is the root of the beautiful tree of believing in The Lord with understanding all of his intentions. Isn’t it what a believer wants to do?

How can we learn Biblical Hebrew?

If you are an autodidact you can learn Modern Hebrew with some sites over the internet, you just have to google it, and then you will be able to learn it online or order DVD’s to your house. There are some sites the will give you a partial information:

Another option is to learn Biblical Hebrew with a teacher that knows the Hebrew language and also has an acquaintance with The Scriptures. If you wish to learn in this option- the option is one – ClassicalHebrew.com.

I wish you good look and enjoyment.

Demons In Jewish Mythology- Samael

Posted by Eli Dahan on under Bible, Biblical Hebrew, Jewish Folklore | Be the First to Comment

According to Jewish scriptures, Samael is the angel of death or the Prince of Darkness, who rules the seven heavens.

Samael

His name is etymologized as Sama-El meaning “the venom of God”.

In the Talmud

The Talmud states that Satan (see Satan’s blog) and Samael the Angel of Death, are the same, and Samael is also there made equivalent to the Biblical serpent of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

samael= serpent?

He is also termed the chief of the Dragons of Evil, and is popularly made responsible for the hot scorching wind of the desert — the simoom. In conjunction with Lilith, who was one of his wives (see Lilith’s blog), he is represented as the Evil Beast.

In the Kabbala

In The Book of the Secrets of Enoch, which is one of the Apocrypha , Samael is represented as a prince of the demons and a magician. As the prince of the demons, Samael is regarded as a magic being, and must be considered in the preparation of amulets. Eve is supposed to have become pregnant by him and the Kabalists add many details to this. According to Zoharistic Kabala, Samael was also mated with Eisheth Zenunium, Naamah, and Agrat bat Mahlat – all angels of prostitution.

In the Zohar ,Samael is said to be related with the planet Mars. Samael says:

“...כל השליטה שלי מבוססת על הרג. ואם אני אקבל את התורה,כוכב מאדים לא יתקיים יותר. התפקיד שלי נמצא בכוכב מאדים אשר מרמז על שפיכת דמים “

“…my entire domination is based on killing. And if I accept the Torah, there will no longer be wars. My rule is over the planet Maadim (Mars) that indicates spilling of blood.”

One verse (psalms 133:1) – many translations – one exact meaning!

Posted by Eli Dahan on July 26, 2009 under Bible, Biblical Hebrew | Read the First Comment

When the psalmist wants to reunite the universe, he doesn’t have to do so much; he just need to say , let us all sit together , my brothers, people of the world, let us all sit , and this is the best feeling and pleasantness ever as written in The Scriptures:

“…  הִנֵּה מַה-טּוֹב, וּמַה-נָּעִים–    שֶׁבֶת אַחִים גַּם-יָחַד

let us all brothers sit together!

The problems with the translation of this verse and the solution

however, my dearest readers, the translations of this verse is a little bit difficult and I didn’t find any translation that will share with the English readers the correct massage of this verse, in order to do it we will have to look at the second part of the verse, but first let’s see some translations:

“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity” (New International Version)

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! (New American Standard Bible)

“look, how good and how pleasant The dwelling of brethren even together! (Young’s Literal Translation)

The problems is not the massage of the unity, that’s great and very important; the problem is the way that the brothers will achieve this unity, not by dwelling together, not by living together, only by sitting ( around a table , in a street, in a bar, in the nature ) one side by one , feeling great because of this shared sitting , without being judgmental , just being in the same place, no matter where, after making The Beatles song “come together” to reality!

after the sitting , all the hands will assemble unity

And what is the lesson from all of this? Learn Biblical Hebrew, my friends, and the massage of The Lord will be for everyone, the united world ….

Isaiah 62 –A new name for Jerusalem- A new massage to the world!

Posted by Eli Dahan on July 23, 2009 under Bible, Biblical Hebrew | Read the First Comment

When Isaiah the prophet spoke about Jerusalem it seemed to be that the fire was burning in his eyes. The most notable chapter is in the end of this extraordinary book – Isaiah 62.Jerusalem, that was known in the old ages as the center of the world, and steel until today is  the center of the three monotheistic religions, is the place where the instructions of The Lord flow over to the world, as written in the beginning of Isaiah (2:3)-

כִּי מִצִּיּוֹן תֵּצֵא תוֹרָה, וּדְבַר-יְהוָה מִירוּשָׁלָם”

“for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem”

Isaiah

It need to said that from the central part of the cycle all of the points get the same value and amount of the grace of The Lord, and this is the meaning of the prophecy, my dear friends, all should come from the same origin, and all of us can enjoy the serving of God , if we just behave and be good to humanity!

The change of the name

Every time whenever I am reading the words of Isaiah, I am trying to see him standing in the gates of Jerusalem, screaming his words, telling to the people to listen, and without any microphone, the words comes to all of the world. In chapter 62 the great words are so simple by using the change of the name of Jerusalem, as written:

“neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah….Behold, Jehovah hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. And they shall call them The holy people, The redeemed of Jehovah: and thou shalt be called Sought out, A city not forsaken”

In order to say what was and what will be, you don’t have to make so much efforts, you just change the meanings, your intentions from being like in the desert to be as you want things, like The Lord wants Jerusalem so much that he is calling her “Hephzibah” , that means that he wants her , he need her. After the end of the days, the eschatology, we will all feel wanted and needed in this world. May this days will come without the wars, with the peace and then we will say that the vision in the beginning of Isaiah 2 will happen!
